Monday Destresser #1 - The Insane Hot-cocoa.

Imagine driving back home after work all cold and shivering. You enter the house and experience warmth. Now, imagine having a sumptuous dinner that warms you up and then just before you hits the sheets, indulging into this drink that warms your soul.

This recipe of hot cocoa is the regular hot cocoa recipe with a hint of my own ingredients. It's something that I experimented one day and it turned out to be so good, that its a staple drink every other winter night.

Now, I added chopped nuts and a special warming agent to it. Try it at home and tell

ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar (depending on your sweet tooth)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk or cream (this can be substituted with soy milk or rice milk)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Handful of chopped almonds or cashew nuts.
  • Special warming agent: A shot of Brandy

preparation

Whisk together the cocoa, sugar, salt, and about 2 tablespoons milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Whisk in the rest of the milk and heat it over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until it is hot. Stir in the vanilla.
Remove it from over the stove top and add the chopped nuts. Pour into cup and add a shot of brandy stir and serve.

If you like it frothy, blend it in the blender before adding the brandy and chopped nuts.
This recipe multiplies easily. When you get up to a 4 cups of milk, use 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Good Night. :)

KST.
